George Comfort & Sons and building owner Wohio Holding Inc. have secured a new full-floor lease with Diptyque at 16 East 34th Street, a recently renovated office and retail property situated between Madison and Fifth Avenues in the Murray Hill neighborhood. The transaction marks a North American headquarters relocation for the luxury brand, which is known for its perfumes, skincare products and home decor.
Diptyque has committed to 18,017 square feet at the property under a 10-year lease. The company will occupy an entire floor, positioning its North American headquarters within a building that has undergone a significant upgrade program. According to the parties, the renovations include a reimagined lobby and an outdoor roof deck intended to enhance the experience for office users in the building.
The new headquarters lease will more than double Diptyque’s current footprint. The brand is relocating from its existing 8,097-square-foot premises at 240-246 West 35th Street, with the move scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. The expansion underscores a meaningful increase in space compared with the company’s current North American headquarters location.
George Comfort & Sons’ Peter Duncan commented that Diptyque’s choice of 16 East 34th Street for its headquarters reflects the property’s high-end design, management approach and service. He also noted that the upgraded lobby and the building’s roof deck are drawing interest from leading companies across the city.
On the ownership side, George Comfort & Sons professionals Peter Duncan, Alexander Bermingham and James Donaldson represented Wohio Holding Inc. in the lease negotiations. Diptyque was represented by Laurence Carroll of Cushman & Wakefield. The transaction adds a global luxury tenant to the roster at 16 East 34th Street and secures a long-term commitment for a full floor of office space within the Murray Hill property.
