PMB has started construction on a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Redlands in partnership with Loma Linda University Health and Lifepoint Rehabilitation, a business unit of Lifepoint Health. The project consists of a three-story, standalone facility totaling 99,000 square feet and programmed for 80 inpatient beds. The hospital is being developed at 11207 New Jersey and is designed to operate as an independent rehabilitation facility rather than as a unit within an existing acute care campus.
Loma Linda University Rehabilitation Hospital will be jointly operated by Loma Linda University Health and Lifepoint Rehabilitation once it opens. The new hospital is expected to begin serving patients in summer 2028, providing a dedicated setting for intensive inpatient rehabilitation services. At that time, Loma Linda University Health plans to transition its current inpatient rehabilitation unit into the new purpose-built facility, consolidating services into the Redlands location.
During the groundbreaking, Nolan Weinberg, senior vice president of development for PMB, described the project as a commitment to the surrounding community and emphasized the role of inpatient rehabilitation as a key step between acute medical care and resuming daily activities. His remarks underscored the hospital’s intended function in supporting patients through the recovery process following serious illness or injury.
PMB has assembled a project team that includes Layton Construction as general contractor and Material Design Architects as the architect. Harrison Street Asset Management is serving as the project’s financing partner. Together, these firms are moving forward with delivery of the specialized healthcare facility, which is planned to expand local capacity for inpatient rehabilitation care once completed.
