United Talent Agency is preparing to relocate its New York offices to the Empire State Building, with the move scheduled for next summer. The agency and Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. jointly announced that UTA has committed to a new workplace in the landmark tower, signaling a consolidation of the agency’s New York presence in a single high-profile location.
The new premises will comprise 100,948 square feet spread across four floors in the Empire State Building. UTA plans to bring a wide range of its business lines into the space, including filmed entertainment, creators, news, publishing, theatre, music, speakers, sports, brand advisory and executive search. Housing these groups together is intended to create a centralized hub for the agency’s New York-based operations.
In commenting on the lease, Ryan Kass, executive vice president, co-head of real estate and chief revenue officer at Empire State Realty Trust, emphasized the strategic fit between UTA and the building. He noted that the Empire State Building, often described as the “World’s Most Famous Building,” is positioned to support the firm’s continued growth. According to Kass, the property is designed to foster collaboration, attract top talent and enhance the employee experience for the types of innovative and influential businesses that choose to locate there.
The leasing transaction involved multiple brokerage teams representing both the tenant and the property owner. United Talent Agency was represented by a JLL team that included Mitchell Konsker, Benjamin Bass and Harrison Potter, who handled negotiations on behalf of the agency. Their role focused on securing terms and a configuration that would accommodate UTA’s broad mix of businesses and operational needs within the building.
On the ownership side, representatives from Empire State Realty Trust and Newmark worked together to negotiate the lease. Jordan Berger, Shanae Ursini and Kerry Lavelle of Empire State Realty Trust participated in the discussions alongside Newmark’s Scott Klau, Erik Harris, Neil Rubin, Brent Ozarowski, Zachary Weil and Cole Gendels. These teams represented the property owner in structuring the agreement with UTA and aligning the tenancy with the building’s overall leasing and tenant mix strategy.
The relocation will shift UTA’s New York operations into one of the city’s most recognizable properties, bringing a diverse portfolio of entertainment, media and advisory businesses under one roof. While specific lease terms were not disclosed, the size of the commitment and the profile of both tenant and building underscore the ongoing role of iconic towers in attracting creative and professional services firms seeking a prominent New York address.
