Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao has opened a new restaurant at 180 American Way in National Harbor, bringing its Northern Chinese menu and soup dumpling-focused concept to the mixed-use waterfront destination. The opening follows a lease signed in 2024 for a 6,253-square-foot space, adding another food-and-beverage option to the project's retail lineup.
KLNB announced the transaction and opening, noting that Principal Josh Weiner represented Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao in securing the lease. Weiner worked alongside Jerry Johnson of Bennett Williams Retail, who served as co-broker and master broker for the tenant throughout the site selection and leasing process. Together, they guided the restaurant brand through a regional search before finalizing the National Harbor location.
On the ownership side, the landlord, Peterson Companies, was represented in the lease negotiations by Tony Summers. With the lease completed in 2024 and the restaurant now open, the deal reflects coordination among multiple brokerage professionals and the landlord's team to bring a new dining concept into the property's tenant mix.
Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao is described as a Michelin-recommended restaurant that specializes in Northern Chinese cuisine. The menu features the brand's signature soup dumplings, alongside a broader selection of dishes, and the new location includes a full bar service. By combining a well-known culinary concept with an activated bar program, the restaurant adds another experiential element to the National Harbor environment.
According to KLNB, the brokerage team began by evaluating the market based on Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao's specific expansion criteria, touring numerous locations across the region before selecting the National Harbor site. Weiner noted that the opening introduces the concept to more customers throughout the Washington region, underscoring the restaurant's broader growth objectives while enhancing the dining options available at National Harbor.
