Standard Real Estate Investments has begun the initial phase of construction on its recently acquired property near the Congress Heights Metro Station in Washington D.C.’s Ward 8. Demolition of existing structures is scheduled to start on June 19, 2023.
The site is located at 1331 Alabama Ave SE and Standard has partnered with Trammell Crow Company (TCC) to develop up to 240,000 square feet of commercial office and retail space for leasing purposes. Construction is expected to be completed by 2026.
Jerome Nichols, president of Standard remarked “We are delighted that this well-located site will bring economic activity, amenities and jobs into the Congress Heights neighborhood.” The first step towards achieving this goal begins with demolition work commencing on June 19th .
