Avison Young’s addition of a dedicated Mid-Atlantic and national healthcare project management lead signals continued institutional focus on healthcare real estate execution, which can support owners navigating complex build-outs and capital projects.

Avison Young has added industry veteran Jarret Horst as a principal and project management lead, with responsibilities spanning both national healthcare work and the firm's Mid-Atlantic operations. The company reports that Horst will guide the expansion of its project management service line across the Mid-Atlantic region while also helping advance its healthcare project management platform at the national level.

In this dual leadership role, Horst is tasked with strengthening Avison Young's project management capabilities in the Mid-Atlantic and playing a central part in growing the firm's overall Project Management practice in that geography. The firm indicates that his appointment is intended to deepen its ability to support healthcare-sector clients across the country with tailored project management solutions.

Avison Young highlights that Horst will draw on extensive experience working with healthcare stakeholders, applying his sector knowledge and relationships to assignments within the national healthcare project management platform. His remit includes helping deliver specialized services that address the unique planning, construction, and delivery requirements of healthcare facilities and related real estate.

Horst brings nearly 30 years of construction and construction management experience to his new position. His background includes approximately 15 years working as a contractor, followed by about 10 years in an owner role, and an additional four years serving as an owner's representative for a real estate firm. That combination of perspectives gives him experience from multiple sides of the project lifecycle, from execution in the field to oversight on behalf of property owners.

Immediately prior to joining Avison Young, Horst served as a senior director at Cushman & Wakefield. In that role, he led the Baltimore project and development services market and acted as the Maryland healthcare lead, overseeing project and development assignments and focusing on the needs of healthcare users in the region. His move to Avison Young positions him to apply that regional and sector-specific experience in a broader leadership capacity.

By bringing Horst onto the team as a principal focused on both Mid-Atlantic growth and healthcare project management nationally, Avison Young is adding senior-level oversight to a service line that is increasingly central to occupiers and owners managing capital projects and facility upgrades. The firm expects that his track record across construction, ownership, and representation roles will support more coordinated delivery of project management services to healthcare and other clients.
