A $117 million ground-up hotel within the Parks at Legacy Campus underscores how hospitality is being integrated into large-scale corporate campus redevelopments to support mixed-use demand.

Construction is moving forward on the $117 million Miyako hotel in Plano, where the project team reports that the Japanese-inspired property remains on schedule for a planned fall 2027 opening. Site work for the hotel began in October, and the slab for the structure has now been poured, marking a significant milestone in the build-out.

The 12-story hotel is expected to reach its full height in the coming months, with The Beck Group engaged to construct the building. As vertical construction progresses, the project is transitioning from initial site preparation into the main structural phase.

The Miyako hotel is located within Plano’s Parks at Legacy Campus, positioned just south of the JCPenney campus. That broader corporate campus is being redeveloped by Capital Commercial Investment into a billion-dollar mixed-use project, placing the new hotel within a larger environment of ongoing investment and repositioning activity.

Planned programming for the 217-room hotel centers around a Japanese-inspired hospitality experience. The property is slated to feature a traditional Japanese restaurant, an upscale lobby bar and rooftop bar, and a Japanese bakery. Additional amenities are expected to include an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and on-site banquet and conference space designed to support group, corporate, and event demand.

The project represents Kintetsu Enterprises’ third hotel in the United States and its first in Texas, marking an expansion of the company’s U.S. lodging footprint into the Plano market. While the article highlights this as a notable milestone for Kintetsu Enterprises, it focuses primarily on the current status of construction and the planned features of the hotel.

With a substantial construction budget and a defined opening timeline, the Miyako hotel is emerging as one of the hospitality components tied to the broader evolution of the Parks at Legacy area. As the structure moves toward topping out and interior work to follow, the project is positioned to contribute additional lodging, food-and-beverage, and meeting space to the surrounding mixed-use environment.
