Commercial real estate firms across the Chicago and Midwest region have announced a series of leadership changes aimed at strengthening finance, capital markets, property management and brokerage capabilities.
Minneapolis-based Opus has promoted Pete Conlon to chief financial officer and head of capital markets, and Su O’Sullivan to executive vice president of accounting. The firm noted that these appointments support its broader strategic plan and ongoing leadership evolution. As part of that effort, Opus has redefined the chief financial officer role to place greater emphasis on capital formation, capital relationships and investment strategy within the organization.
Friedman Real Estate has named Dan Stratis as market lead for its Chicago office. In his new role, Stratis is tasked with driving the growth of the firm’s commercial and multifamily property management operations in the market, while also supporting the continued expansion of its brokerage platform. The appointment reflects Friedman’s focus on scaling both management and transaction services in Chicago.
Cushman & Wakefield reported that Senior Director Aaron Barnard, SIOR, CCIM, has been selected as Global President of The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors for a one-year term on the SIOR Board of Directors. Barnard, who is based in the firm’s Bloomington, Minnesota office, brings 33 years of commercial real estate experience, with a practice centered on investment analysis, project feasibility, leasing and marketing programs, and development pre-leasing. His election places a long-tenured investment and leasing specialist in a key leadership role at the global professional organization.
Investment sales firm Greenstone Partners has expanded its team with the addition of Aaron Ramirez as an investment associate and Ilma Seperovic as a senior marketing manager. Ramirez will concentrate on the acquisition and disposition of urban retail and mixed-use properties across Chicago’s North and Northwest sides, bolstering the firm’s investment sales coverage in those trade areas. Seperovic will oversee content marketing strategy and brand positioning, leading digital campaigns, public relations and broader marketing initiatives to support Greenstone’s growth.
Colliers announced that the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors has elected Scott Savacool, SIOR, a Senior Vice President in the firm’s St. Louis office, to the SIOR Global Board of Directors as Vice President. Under SIOR’s rolling board structure, Savacool is expected to advance to serve as SIOR Global President in 2029. The organization noted that this will be the first time since 2003 that a member based in St. Louis has held the presidency, highlighting the region’s representation in global industry leadership.
