Hoar Construction has begun work on the 30-story Icon, a student housing project that will soon tower over West Campus near the University of Texas at Austin. The MDL Group serves as the developer for this construction project, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025 and ready for students to move in by the fall of 2025.
UT Students Rejoice 555-Bed Student Housing Project Announced!An icon will feature 555 beds across 216 apartments ranging from 1- to 5-bedroom units with amenities such as a rooftop pool, fitness center, game, and lounge rooms, podcast studio, and student workspaces located on top floors. Additionally, there are four levels of below-ground parking included in this development. When finished it will become one of the tallest buildings among its surrounding neighborhoods while UT Austin continues its reign as having the highest bed count amongst all student housing projects currently under construction nationwide.
