Omni Hotels & Resorts has opened the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, the brand’s third flagship property in Florida. Rising 29 stories above the Intracoastal Waterway, the waterfront hotel is positioned to offer views from nearly every level, highlighting its location in Fort Lauderdale’s resort and convention corridor.

The new hotel delivers 801 guest rooms, making it a large-scale addition to the local hospitality inventory. The property incorporates more than 120,000 square feet of meeting and event space, indicating a focus on group, convention, and corporate demand segments. Within this program, the 30,000-square-foot Waterway Ballroom serves as the centerpiece venue, designed to anchor major events and large gatherings.

Guest amenities at the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel include six dining venues, providing multiple on-site food and beverage options. The property features a pool deck that offers both city and ocean views, as well as a full-service spa, aligning the hotel’s offerings with leisure, wellness, and resort-oriented demand alongside its meetings and events business.

In terms of connectivity and access, the hotel is positioned to provide direct access to the Convention Center and the Port Everglades Cruise Terminal. It is also described as being minutes from area beaches and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, underscoring its role as a hub for both drive-in and fly-in guests, as well as cruise passengers transitioning through the market.

The project was developed by Matthews Southwest, which led the delivery of the hotel. Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects contributed to the design of the Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, working in collaboration with Stantec, which served as architect of record. Balfour Beatty acted as the design builder for the project, overseeing the integration of design and construction.

The hotel will also introduce the Ibis Sky Lounge, described as the highest bar in Fort Lauderdale. This elevated venue builds on the property’s vertical profile and is positioned as a distinctive experiential element within the overall food, beverage, and entertainment offering at the hotel.
