**McCombs Enterprises Moves Forward with San Antonio Mixed-Use Development**
McCombs Enterprises has received the green light from the San Antonio City Council to proceed with a major six-acre, mixed-use development at the intersection of West Jones Avenue and Camden Street, adjacent to the San Antonio Museum of Art.
The ambitious project, as reported by the San Antonio Business Journal, will include up to 390 apartment units, 265,510 square feet of office space, 57,410 square feet of food and beverage space, and 58,650 square feet dedicated to retail. In total, the development will span more than one million square feet across eight buildings.
McCombs Enterprises acquired the site in 2023 from CPS Energy for $29.5 million.
The company was founded by Red McCombs, a notable figure in business and sports. He was the co-founder of Clear Channel Communications and formerly owned several professional sports franchises including the San Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Force, Denver Nuggets, and the Minnesota Vikings. He is also the namesake of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
McCombs Enterprises operates across five divisions: Automotive, Energy, Real Estate, Investments, and its philanthropic Foundation.
