Kane Realty Corporation has submitted site plans to the Town of Cary for a new mixed-use development called Flat Iron. The project is planned for a two-acre site located at 602 W. Chatham Street and 523 Old Apex Road, currently occupied by an unpaved parking lot and a small warehouse, which would be demolished to make way for the new development.
Flat Iron is envisioned as a seven-story building featuring 213 residential units, 5,659 square feet of restaurant and retail space, and an attached eight-level parking deck with 312 spaces. Residential offerings will include studio apartments, two-story townhomes, and one hotel room.
The development will also feature several amenities, such as a swimming pool, a courtyard, a rooftop amenity area, a fitness center, a club room, coworking spaces, and dedicated community gathering areas. The restaurant and retail spaces will front Old Apex Road near the traffic circle and include outdoor patio seating.
This proposal marks another significant step in the continued redevelopment and growth of Cary’s downtown corridor.
