**Empire Group to Break Ground on 24-Story Midtown Phoenix Apartment Tower**
Empire Group of Cos. is set to break ground next month on “The Whitney,” a new 24-story apartment tower located near the Phoenix Art Museum at the southwest corner of Central Avenue and McDowell Road in downtown Phoenix.
The Whitney will feature 328 apartment units and 314,000 square feet of retail space. Brinkmann has been named as the general contractor for the project. The development represents a $165 million investment and is part of a broader $1.22 billion pipeline consisting of four major apartment tower projects from the Scottsdale-based developer.
In addition to The Whitney, Empire Group also plans to begin construction this year on the $280 million Revelry project in downtown Tempe. This development includes two apartment towers — one 17 stories and the other 15 stories — connected by a 27,000-square-foot pool deck on the second floor. The Revelry will be located at the southeast corner of University Drive and Rural Road.
Beyond its high-rise apartment initiatives, Empire is expanding its footprint in the build-to-rent sector, with $1.07 billion allocated to 15 separate properties across metro Phoenix comprising approximately 3,500 units.
