**H-E-B to Open First Store Within Dallas City Limits**

H-E-B, the popular Texas-based grocery chain, is making a major move within the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Although the company already operates over a dozen stores around Dallas, it has yet to open one within the actual city limits—until now.

The Dallas City Council recently approved new zoning for a site at the southeast corner of I-635 and Hillcrest Road. This decision paves the way for H-E-B to construct its first store within the city of Dallas. Council members noted the importance of the move, pointing out that many neighborhoods in Dallas are considered grocery store deserts.

The company plans to build a 127,000-square-foot store on a 10-acre site that currently houses aging office buildings. The development is expected to bring significant benefits to the area, including 800 new jobs and approximately $24 million in tax revenue over the next five years.

H-E-B has been aggressively expanding in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, with additional stores under construction in Forney, Murphy, and the Bedford/Euless area. Across Texas and Mexico, H-E-B operates more than 440 stores and continues to solidify its presence as a leading regional grocery chain.
