Skanska Secures Office Leases at Downtown DC Tower

Skanska has announced the signing of three new leases at 17xM, a premier office building located in Washington, D.C.’s central business district.

The University of Michigan and architecture and design firm Corgan are the latest tenants to join the landmark property, which is now more than 90% leased. They join a roster of established tenants including Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and UBS Financial Services.

This marks a significant milestone for the University of Michigan, as it will be opening its first location in the D.C. market. The university will occupy approximately 11,500 square feet of office and retail space. CBRE represented both Skanska and the University of Michigan in the lease transaction.

Corgan will lease 9,700 square feet in the building. CBRE served as the leasing representative for Skanska in this transaction, while Savills represented Corgan.

Located at 1700 M Street, 17xM is an 11-story, next-generation trophy office tower designed by the renowned architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. Leasing for the property is being managed by CBRE’s Randy Harrell, Joe Coleman, and Lara Nealon.
