**Evo Entertainment Breaks Ground on 82,000-SF Venue in Forney**
Evo Entertainment has officially begun construction on a new 82,000-square-foot entertainment center located in the Village at Gateway development in Forney, Texas. The highly anticipated facility is expected to open in fall 2026, with construction costs estimated at $40 million.
The new venue will include a nine-screen movie theater, a full-service restaurant and bar, a game room, a bowling alley, and is projected to create approximately 235 jobs within its first three years of operation. Forney Legacy Holdings has secured up to $4 million in grants and reimbursements to support infrastructure improvements for the property.
The Village at Gateway development, spearheaded by Dallas-based developer StreetLevel Investments, began construction in November 2024. The 820,000-square-foot retail complex will be delivered in phases.
Phase one will be anchored by major retailers including Home Depot, Target, and H-E-B. The Evo Entertainment center will serve as the anchor tenant in phase two, which will add approximately 200,000 additional square feet of commercial space and include 650 multifamily residential units.
The H-E-B location is scheduled to open in early 2025, with the Target store following in summer 2026. Currently, the retail development is about 75% leased.
