Horvath & Tremblay Brokers Sale of Dupont Circle Office Buildings

Horvath & Tremblay has completed the sale of 1719 & 1723 N Street NW, a pair of side-by-side office buildings located in the heart of Washington, D.C.’s Dupont Circle neighborhood. The properties, which together total approximately 16,100 gross square feet, were sold for $4.61 million — surpassing the combined asking price of $4.5 million.

The seller, Society for Science, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) membership organization, had owned and occupied the buildings for over 80 years. Founded by Edward W. Scripps and William Emerson Ritter, the organization has recently expanded its offices elsewhere in the city.

The transaction was brokered exclusively by Dennis Cravedi and Christian Barreiro of Horvath & Tremblay. The team managed a competitive marketing process that included 47 property tours and 13 written offers. Interest came from a variety of buyer types, including residential developers, hospitality companies, and owner-users.

The winning buyer plans to convert the two office properties into residential use, marking a new chapter in one of D.C.’s historic neighborhoods.
