**ASU to Break Ground on $200M Bioscience Headquarters in Downtown Phoenix**

Arizona State University (ASU) has unveiled plans for a major new addition to its expanding medical and biosciences footprint: a 200,000-square-foot facility that will serve as the new headquarters for ASU Health.

Located on a city-owned vacant lot in downtown Phoenix’s Bioscience Core, the new multistory School of Medicine and Advanced Medical Engineering building will be developed alongside the existing University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and a range of biotech research firms. The project is being designed by CO Architects in partnership with DFDG Architecture, with McCarthy Building Companies serving as the general contractor.

Key features of the facility include virtual anatomy and clinical-skills labs, simulation spaces with mock operating and emergency rooms, exam rooms, classrooms, study areas, and administrative offices.

The development is expected to cost between $200 million and $230 million. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2025, with completion targeted for 2028.
