**Maersk Chooses Charlotte for North American Headquarters, Adding 520 Jobs**
Global logistics giant Maersk has announced Charlotte, North Carolina, as the new home of its official North American headquarters. The move will bring 520 new jobs to the city over the next several years, expanding Maersk’s Charlotte-based workforce to more than 1,300 employees. As part of its commitment to the region, the company will invest $16 million in Mecklenburg County, with its headquarters located at the Steele Creek campus in south Charlotte.
Founded in 1904, Maersk has grown into a leading integrated logistics provider, offering a wide range of services including ocean and inland transportation, warehousing, customs, and digital logistics solutions. The company currently employs more than 10,000 people across North America, supporting its broader global workforce of approximately 100,000.
The new Charlotte headquarters will serve as the hub for several key corporate functions, including finance, human resources, commercial strategy, and technology. While salaries for the new roles will vary, the average annual salary is projected to be approximately $100,962.
Maersk’s decision to establish its North American base in Charlotte underscores the city’s growing status as a prime destination for global business and logistics operations.
