**TSMC Eyes Major Expansion with Bid for 902 Acres Next to $165B Phoenix Campus**
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has initiated a bid to acquire 902 acres of state trust land located just south of its existing campus in North Phoenix. The land request has triggered a public auction scheduled for January 7, with a starting bid set at $197.25 million.
This expansion would add to TSMC’s massive $165 billion semiconductor manufacturing campus, accelerating the transformation of the region into a major technology and innovation hub. The proposed site is part of the NorthPark master-planned community, which could eventually span nearly 7,000 acres and feature a mix of commercial, residential, and employment-centered development.
Surrounding TSMC’s current facility, further significant development is already underway. To the north, west, and east lies Halo Vista, another mixed-use master-planned community in progress. At full buildout, Halo Vista could include up to 30 million square feet of retail, office, industrial, hospitality, research, and healthcare space, along with as many as 9,000 residential units.
TSMC originally purchased the 1,128-acre tract for its current campus during a state trust land auction in 2020, securing the property for $89 million. The new expansion bid reflects the semiconductor giant’s ongoing commitment to growing its U.S. footprint and supporting supply chain resiliency in the sector.
