**Savannah Convention Center to Add 444-Room Signia by Hilton Hotel**
Songy Highroads (SHR), in collaboration with Matthews Southwest Hospitality, has officially broken ground on a major hospitality development: the Signia by Hilton Savannah. This 444-room full-service hotel will serve as the headquarters hotel for the Savannah Convention Center.
To finance the project, SHR successfully closed a $390 million municipal bond offering last month through Morgan Stanley. The hotel will be owned by the Savannah Convention Center Authority (SGCCA) and developed in partnership with the Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA). Hilton will operate the property, which is expected to open in mid-2028.
Located adjacent to and directly connected with the recently expanded Savannah Convention Center, the new Signia by Hilton will offer an array of upscale amenities, including 38,000 square feet of meeting space, a 13,000-square-foot ballroom, five food and beverage venues, an outdoor pool, and Club Signia.
This development aligns with the $271 million expansion of the Savannah Convention Center, which has now doubled its exhibit hall space to 200,000 square feet, enhancing Savannah’s status as a premier destination for conventions and large-scale events.
