**Homes for America Breaks Ground on Clare Court II Affordable Housing Development in Baltimore**
Homes for America has officially broken ground on Clare Court II, a major new affordable housing development located at 3725 Ellerslie Avenue in Baltimore’s Waverly/Ednor Gardens-Lakeside neighborhood. The project will deliver 83 affordable housing units and is among the first developments in Baltimore to benefit from the City’s Housing Accelerator Fund and HOME-ARP resources.
The $31 million redevelopment project is funded through a combination of public and private sources, including the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development, the City of Baltimore, Cinnaire, the Weinberg Foundation, and Maryland State Bond Funds.
Clare Court II will feature a blend of newly constructed and renovated apartments on a historic eight-acre campus originally developed in 1917. All units will be affordable for households earning between 30% and 60% of the area median income.
The development is being undertaken in partnership with architecture firm Hord Coplan Macht, general contractor Southway Builders, and Cinnaire. Once completed, the property will be professionally managed by Habitat America, which will provide on-site management and supportive services for residents.
Clare Court II represents a significant investment in Baltimore’s affordable housing infrastructure and is poised to serve as a model for future developments supported by the City’s housing initiatives.
