**Brooklyn Developer Acquires Second Gowanus Site**
Goose Property Management, a Brooklyn-based residential developer, has acquired a second property in the Gowanus neighborhood. According to the New York Business Journal, the developer purchased the industrial site at 264 Butler Street for approximately $15.3 million. The transaction follows a contract entered into in the fall of 2024.
The property had been owned by Domal Transportation Inc. since 1980. Earlier this year, plans were filed to demolish the existing structure on the site, which is located within the Special Gowanus Mixed-Use District. This zoning district was established in 2021 to encourage residential development in the area.
The Butler Street site sits adjacent to a 13,000-square-foot property at 172 3rd Avenue, which another affiliate of Goose Property acquired in November 2024 for $22 million.
Beyond Gowanus, Goose Property Management has been active in Downtown Brooklyn. The firm recently launched a housing lottery at 570 Fulton Street and acquired another nearby site at 60 Fulton Street in 2022.
