**WNC & Associates, EmberHope Break Ground on Affordable Housing Project in Kansas**
WNC & Associates (WNC), in collaboration with EmberHope, Inc. and Riverstone Platform Partners, has officially commenced construction on Hope Estates, a new affordable housing development in Newton, Kansas.
Located at 900 West Broadway Street, within the existing campus of EmberHope Youthville, Hope Estates represents a $13.58 million investment aimed at expanding access to affordable housing in the region. The community will consist of 38 units spread across nine two-story buildings and will offer a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes. The development is designed to support individuals and families earning between 30% and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
The financing for Hope Estates comprises a combination of public and private sources. Funding includes $6.87 million in federal low-income housing tax credit equity, $4.62 million in Kansas low-income housing tax credit equity, and $800,000 from the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. Additionally, Legacy Bank is providing both construction and permanent financing, with the latter totaling $1.373 million.
Construction is currently underway and is expected to be completed by late 2026.
