**Methodist Hospital Stone Oak Announces $104M Expansion in San Antonio**
Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, located at 1139 E. Sonterra Blvd. in San Antonio, has unveiled plans for a $104 million expansion project that will add 83,948 square feet to the facility. The development includes the addition of two new floors and 50 hospital beds, aimed at enhancing patient care and expanding the hospital’s capacity.
The new fifth floor will feature 40 additional Med Tele beds—equipped with telemetry monitoring systems—designed to support patients who require continuous monitoring. The sixth floor will include 14 new critical care intensive care unit (ICU) beds. Once complete, the facility’s total bed count will increase from 245 to 299.
In addition to expanded patient care areas, the project will also deliver shelled space on the sixth floor for future growth, upgraded kitchen facilities, and added parking to accommodate increased traffic.
Construction will be led by general contractor Robins & Morton, with architectural design provided by Nashville-based Earl Swensson Associates Inc. (ESa). The expansion is expected to be completed by January 2027.
