Moderna Acquires Boston GMP Facility for $91M Investment

Oxford Properties Group has sold a newly built Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility in Marlborough, Massachusetts to Moderna, Inc., a biotechnology company based in Cambridge for $91 million. Located at 149 Hayes Memorial Drive, the 140,000 square foot two-story facility features 36′ ceilings and four loading docks with freight elevators. The building is expected to open late 2024 and create over 200 jobs by 2026.

Christie Chen of Oxford noted that this transaction “is a testament to our life science strategy and highlights the strength of institutional demand for high-quality biomanufacturing space” across North America where their GMP portfolio includes 11 facilities across six markets.
