Plans Unveiled for 125 Workforce Rental Units in New Port Richey

Alexander Goshen, in partnership with multifamily investor Avanti Residential, is set to develop Walden Pond, a new $30 million mixed-income multifamily community in New Port Richey, Florida. Groundbreaking is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

The planned development will span nearly nine acres just west of U.S. Highway 19 and will feature 125 rental apartments. The community will include a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units designed to serve a range of income levels.

Walden Pond will comprise three four-story residential buildings with ground-level parking and incorporate flood-resilient design features, a response to the historic storm surge experienced in October 2024. Planned amenities include a dog park, pickleball court, and children’s playground.

Financing for the project is being provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in combination with other state and local funding sources. The development underscores the growing demand for workforce housing in the Tampa Bay region and highlights the effectiveness of public-private collaboration. Avanti Residential will support the project through its affiliated investment platform, led by Christopher Martiner, and will utilize Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) financing to help bring the project to life.
