**Avondale Selects Developers for New Entertainment and Residential Hub**
The City of Avondale has selected Blueprints Capital and Whitten Development to lead the creation of a 16-acre city-owned entertainment hub, envisioned as a prominent gateway into the city. The development is projected to include a mix of restaurants, retail stores, and other attractions aimed at boosting the area’s appeal and economic activity.
Avondale has officially named its upcoming downtown district “The BLVD.” Spanning 356 acres, the mixed-use destination will feature hotels, multifamily communities, and sports-oriented venues, including nearby attractions like Phoenix Raceway and the American Sports Centers complex—one of Arizona’s largest indoor multisport facilities. The center regularly hosts basketball, volleyball, and soccer tournaments, contributing to the area’s strong recreational and tourism appeal.
The BLVD is strategically located, with over 2,000 multifamily units within walking distance, positioning it as an easily accessible and desirable location for residents and visitors alike.
Meanwhile, neighboring cities such as Goodyear and Surprise are also undertaking large-scale development initiatives. Both are collaborating with local developers to build new downtown areas that will accommodate hundreds of acres of commercial space, aligning with a broader regional trend of urban transformation in the West Valley.
