**Cousins Properties Revamping and Renaming Uptown Charlotte Office Tower**

Cousins Properties is launching a multi-million-dollar renovation of one of its uptown Charlotte high-rises. The nearly 700,000-square-foot building—previously known as Fifth Third Center—will be rebranded as 201 N. Tryon.

This transformation coincides with a major tenant departure. Bank of America recently vacated 316,751 square feet of office space, following the expiration of its lease. Currently, the tower is approximately 50% leased.

Originally constructed in 1997, the building will undergo a significant update, including both interior and exterior enhancements. Plans include new façade designs, the addition of outdoor patios, and a new restaurant.

A major highlight of the renovation will be the conversion of the second floor into a 25,000-square-foot amenity space for tenants. Features will include a state-of-the-art fitness center, a conference room, and a game simulator.

Construction is set to begin in the fall, with project completion expected in the first half of 2027. Gensler has been selected as the architect, and JE Dunn will serve as the general contractor.

Cousins Properties acquired the tower in 2014 for $215 million.
