**Banner Health Proposes $400M Hospital in Scottsdale**

Scottsdale may soon welcome a significant addition to its healthcare infrastructure, as Banner Health has proposed a $400 million, 640,000-square-foot hospital at the corner of Hayden Road and Loop 101. The state-of-the-art, 300-bed facility would mark the second phase in the development of a 48-acre site that Banner acquired in March 2023 for $57.6 million.

The first phase of the project—a 120,000-square-foot Banner Health Care Plus facility—broke ground in May 2025 and is slated for completion in early 2027. This three-story facility will offer a range of services, including primary and specialty care, urgent care, outpatient imaging and lab services, and a Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The architectural design for the medical campus is being led by SmithGroup, with Okland Construction serving as the general contractor. Banner Health is currently seeking approval from the City of Scottsdale to move forward with the hospital phase of the project.

Banner projects that the full development will generate approximately 2,500 jobs and inject more than $750 million into the local economy.
