**Austin Hotel Transformed into Veer Apartments Welcomes New Tenants**
Pfluger Architects and SHIR Capital have completed a successful adaptive reuse project in Austin, converting a former Quality Inn into a modern apartment complex. Now known as Veer Apartments, the five-story building located at 7928 Gessner Drive offers studio units in two distinct floorplan options.
Spanning more than 89,000 square feet, Veer Apartments consists of 174 pet-friendly units designed with contemporary features. The building, originally designed as a hotel, allowed for a smoother and more cost-effective transition into residential use. “The hotel floor plate is not much different from that of a studio or one-bedroom apartment, so the conversion and redesign is less expensive and time-restrictive than other adaptive reuse projects,” explained Erik Leitner of Pfluger Architects.
Residents of Veer Apartments have access to a range of community amenities, including an outdoor pool with BBQ grills, a 24-hour fitness center, and a pet spa.
Development collaborators on the project include Austin Outdoor Design as the design architect and Avas Construction as general contractor.
