Baylor Medical School Building $150M Houston Teaching Facility

Baylor University’s School of Medicine and School of Health Professions are set to move into a new 11-story, 503,000-square-foot tower in Houston. The projected opening date is 2026 and the total cost is estimated at $150 million with gifts totaling $100 million to date. Located next to Helix Park in the Texas Medical Center area, this facility will be called the Lillie and Roy Cullen Tower. It will include a 500 seat atrium; dedicated space for big data analytics; small group classrooms; studio classrooms; large capacity high tech theater style event space; an anatomy lab as well as teaching labs plus a 35,000 square foot simulation center designed for student preparation prior to clinicals ; an education innovation center complete with faculty development lab ; student wellness center ; lecture halls ; rooftop garden & elevated courtyard . Slam Collaborative , an architecture firm based out of Connecticut , was hired on board for design purposes .
