**Pfizer Vacates 61,000-Square-Foot Office at Bothell Campus**
Pfizer has vacated a 61,000-square-foot office space at the Highlands Tech Centre Campus in Bothell, Washington. The pharmaceutical giant exited the space located at 21520 30th Drive SE during the second quarter, according to CBRE’s latest market data.
Despite leaving this particular office, Pfizer continues to occupy both office and laboratory space elsewhere on the Bothell campus. The site was previously the headquarters of Seagen, formerly known as Seattle Genetics, which was founded in 1997 and grew to become the largest biotech company in Washington.
Pfizer acquired Seagen in 2023 in a $43 billion deal, which also included a $350 million Seagen-led manufacturing facility project in Everett. However, Pfizer halted construction on that facility last year, leading to 119 layoffs.
The office vacancy in Bothell reflects a wider trend in the Eastside office market, which saw vacancies increase from 21.9% to 23.5% in the last quarter. Pfizer currently employs around 1,500 workers in the Seattle area.
