**Simmons University and Skanska Celebrate Topping-Off for New Living and Learning Center in Boston**
Simmons University recently celebrated a major milestone in its expansive campus development effort with a topping-off ceremony for its new Living and Learning Center in Boston. Developed in partnership with Skanska, the facility is the central component of the university’s landmark One Simmons project.
Scheduled to open in January 2027, the 385,000-square-foot Living and Learning Center is designed to serve as a hub for student wellness, academic collaboration, and community life. The facility will include a two-story dining hall, multiple event spaces, and a state-of-the-art athletic and wellness center. It will also provide on-campus housing for nearly 1,100 students and offer panoramic views of the Boston skyline.
The completion of the Living and Learning Center will pave the way for the next phase of the One Simmons project—Longwood Place. This 1.7-million-square-foot mixed-use development will include residential units, laboratory and office space, medical and clinical facilities, retail areas, and 2.6 acres of new publicly accessible open space in the Longwood Medical Area.
