**HUD Announces New Headquarters in Virginia**

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has officially announced plans to relocate its headquarters from the Robert C. Weaver Federal Building in Washington, D.C., to a new site at 2415 Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria, Virginia.

The move stems from a strategic decision made in collaboration with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), which currently owns the Robert C. Weaver building. In April 2025, both HUD and GSA revealed the headquarters’ inclusion on the accelerated federal property disposition list.

According to the GSA, this relocation is set to generate substantial cost savings, including hundreds of millions of dollars in deferred maintenance and modernization expenses. Additionally, the move is expected to reduce the federal agency’s operational costs by more than $22 million annually.

“Virginia is a great place to be headquartered, and we are excited to welcome the Department of Housing and Urban Development and their over 2,700 headquarters-based employees to the best state in America to live, work, and raise a family,” said Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin.

The new HUD headquarters will be located at 2415 Eisenhower Avenue, an address that also houses the U.S. National Science Foundation, reinforcing the site’s status as a growing hub for federal agencies.
