Evergreen Impact Housing Fund, DevCo to Open 275-Unit Residential Project in Renton
Evergreen Impact Housing Fund (EIHF), in partnership with DevCo and several Washington state credit unions, is set to open the Astra Apartments—a 275-unit residential development in Renton, Washington. The project is located at 2950 NE 11th Street in the city’s Sunset neighborhood.
This development marks EIHF’s fourth project opening and is part of a larger two-building initiative that also includes the Solera complex. Astra is designed as a mixed-income community, aiming to increase access to affordable housing while revitalizing a site previously occupied by an underutilized strip mall.
The project brings together a broad partnership including the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, BECU, Salal Credit Union, Sound Credit Union, Verity Credit Union, and WSECU. Tiscareno is serving as the project architect, with Heartland Construction as the general contractor.
EIHF is a private capital investment fund managed by the Seattle Foundation that focuses on financing affordable housing developments across the region. DevCo, a Bellevue-based integrated development and investment firm, is one of the state’s largest providers of affordable multi-family communities.
The Astra development is poised to significantly contribute to the housing needs of the Renton area by offering a range of rental options for residents across income levels.
