**Hunt Companies Gains Approval for Major High-Rise Project in Austin**
Hunt Companies has received the green light to develop a major high-rise project at 200 E. Riverside Drive in Austin, Texas. The approved plan includes the construction of three towers featuring approximately 1.3 million square feet of office space, nearly 900 residential units, just under 32,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and commercial space, and a 513-room hotel. The tallest of the buildings could reach up to 600 feet.
The development site is currently occupied by a 93,000-square-foot vacant office building constructed in 1970.
This project is part of a broader wave of development in Austin’s South Central Waterfront area. Additional nearby proposals include a 480-foot tower at 311–315 S. Congress Avenue and the redevelopment of the former Austin American-Statesman site at 305 S. Congress Avenue by Endeavor Real Estate Group.
