**McKinney Approves Major Rezoning for Mixed-Use Development by Billingsley Corporation**

The McKinney City Council has approved a significant rezoning initiative for 786 acres of land owned by the Billingsley Corporation, paving the way for a large mixed-use development known as Huntington Park.

Billingsley Corporation, a prominent developer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, has previously developed well-known communities such as Austin Ranch, Cypress Waters in Coppell, Beacon Square in Plano, and Sloan Corners in Allen. The company currently owns more than 7,600 acres across the region.

The Huntington Park development site is located between Bloomdale and Wilmeth Roads. Of the 786 acres, 175 acres have been designated for commercial development. If completed as envisioned, the project could represent an estimated $2 billion investment in the McKinney area.

Under the previous zoning guidelines, only 24 acres were allocated for commercial use. The new zoning plan expands that substantially and includes:
– 92 acres designated for multifamily housing,
– 63 acres for open space, and
– 375 acres for single-family housing.

This updated zoning reflects McKinney’s continued commitment to fostering growth and encouraging diverse real estate development to meet the city’s expanding residential and commercial needs.
