Sentinel Real Estate Corporation, a New York City-based firm, recently acquired La Via Apartments in Petaluma. The 281-unit mid-rise apartment community was purchased from the sponsor, The Spanos Corporation – a leading developer of multifamily communities across the U.S.
Michael Streicker, President of Sentinel commented on this acquisition: “La Via exemplifies our strategy to acquire well-located properties with strong fundamentals and long term tailwinds in submarkets supported by consistent rent growth.” He further added that due to few deliveries of new apartments in recent years (approximately 52 units per year on average) there are compelling supply/demand dynamics at play for this particular property located near protected parklands.
Having been active in Northern California since its inception 54 years ago; Sentinel currently owns six properties and plans to continue leveraging its market expertise and industry relationships to identify attractive investment opportunities while expanding their portfolio within the region.
