**Bionova Scientific Breaks Ground on $100M Life Sciences Facility in The Woodlands**

Bionova Scientific, a leading company in the life sciences sector, has begun construction on a new state-of-the-art facility located at 2635 Technology Forest Boulevard in The Woodlands, Texas. The new center will specialize in the manufacturing of plasmid DNA, a vital component in gene therapy and vaccine development.

Spanning 70,000 square feet, the facility at 2625 Research Forest Drive will feature offices, research laboratories, clean rooms, and shell spaces designed for future expansion. The project carries a total estimated cost of $100 million, with approximately $56.1 million allocated to construction and $45.8 million set aside for equipment and fixtures.

In May 2024, the Montgomery County Commissioners approved a tax abatement program to support the development. Under the plan, Bionova will receive a 100% property tax abatement from 2026 through 2029. The abatement will phase out gradually, decreasing to 80% in 2030, 60% in 2031, and 40% in 2032.

The new facility is expected to create 200 jobs, contributing significantly to the local economy and reinforcing The Woodlands as a hub for biomanufacturing and innovation.
