**Amazon Ramps Up Data Center Capacity to Meet Growing AI Demand**
Amazon.com is undertaking an aggressive global expansion of its data center infrastructure to meet the surging demand for artificial intelligence computing.
According to Bloomberg News, Amazon Web Services (AWS) — the cloud computing division of Amazon and the world’s largest provider of rented computing power and data storage — recently launched a cluster of new data centers in Mexico. AWS CEO Matt Garman highlighted the company’s ongoing growth efforts during an interview, noting that additional facilities are currently underway in Chile, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, and Taiwan.
Amazon is moving in lockstep with competitors such as Microsoft and Google, both of whom are also accelerating their AI-focused cloud infrastructure. Garman confirmed that AWS is collaborating with Nvidia to expand its inventory of the chipmaker’s latest GB200 semiconductors, which are now available for AWS customers to test.
“Demand is strong,” Garman told Bloomberg.
Amazon has stated that its artificial intelligence initiatives are on track to generate several billion dollars in annual revenue, underscoring the importance of this expansion in meeting increasing demand from enterprise customers.
The company’s continued investment in new data centers reflects its commitment to scaling AI capabilities and staying competitive in the rapidly evolving cloud and artificial intelligence markets.
