**Zoning Approved for $12.6 Billion Data Center Campus in Kansas**

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, has approved the rezoning of a 550-acre site for a proposed $12.6 billion data center campus to be developed by Red Wolf DCD Properties. The massive project will be located west of the Kansas Speedway and is planned to include six buildings totaling approximately 1.8 million square feet.

According to the Kansas City Business Journal, the plans call for three 330,000-square-foot data center buildings and a substation on each side of Parallel Parkway. Each of these buildings is estimated to be worth around $2.1 billion.

Engineering firm Thomas & Hutton is leading the site’s engineering efforts, while Bell-Knott & Associates serves as the architect of record.

The proposed development is anticipated to significantly strengthen the region’s digital infrastructure and position Kansas City as a growing hub for technology and data operations. While the operator of the future campus has not yet been disclosed, the project is expected to deliver substantial economic benefits to the area, including job creation and an increase in tax revenue.
