**Q Investment Partners and Melrose Ascension Capital Celebrate Grand Opening of Straits Row Residential Tower in Chicago**
Q Investment Partners (QIP), a private equity real estate firm headquartered in Singapore, together with Chicago-based real estate development and investment firm Melrose Ascension Capital (MAC), recently announced the grand opening of Straits Row — a new 18-story residential tower located in Chicago’s South Loop.
Situated at 633 S. LaSalle Street in the heart of the Printers Row neighborhood, the 132-unit tower introduces a hybrid living model that blends traditional apartments with co-living units. The building offers 358 private, fully furnished residential spaces and began welcoming its first residents in February.
QIP sponsored the development and joined forces with MAC to re-envision and revamp the site plan, originally acquired from PMG and The Collective. Through their collaboration, the team brought to life a modern residential experience tailored to a blend of urban lifestyles.
“We’re proud to celebrate the grand opening of Straits Row alongside our collaborators, MAC and project partners. This is an important milestone that marks QIP’s continued expansion of our global residential living platform,” said James Coppack, Head of Development at QIP.
In related news, the industry is gearing up for the upcoming Connect Midwest Multifamily 2025 conference, set to take place on June 4, 2025, at The Midland Hotel in Chicago. Highlights include the Lifetime Achievement Award Presentation and a keynote interview with Greg Mutz, Chairman & CEO of Amli Residential Partners, LLC, conducted by Fred Schreiber, Chief Operating Officer. The event promises to be a major networking opportunity for multifamily professionals.
Straits Row represents a significant addition to Chicago’s urban residential offerings and underscores QIP and MAC’s commitment to innovative and community-focused development.
