JBG SMITH has submitted development plans to Arlington County for Block W in National Landing, aiming to create approximately 370 new apartment units and street-level retail. The site, located on Crystal Drive, will see the construction of a seven-story mixed-use residential building that also preserves over 35,000 square feet of open space with amenities such as bike parking and electric vehicle charging stations.
Matt Ginivan, senior vice president of development at JBG SMITH stated “As we continue redeveloping and revitalizing National Landing we are looking for opportunities to add new housing and neighborhood serving retail. By transforming this underutilized vehicular oriented area into apartments with pedestrian friendly ground floor retail it further connects the neighborhood” The placemaking efforts in National Landing focus on creating vibrant community spaces including upcoming projects like Surreal at Dining in the Park or Water Park.
