**Birkdale Village Retail Center in Huntersville Listed for Sale**
The ownership group comprising North American Properties, Nuveen, and Jamestown has officially listed Birkdale Village in Huntersville back on the market, just one year after purchasing the retail destination. The listing is being handled by Newmark, although the asking price has not been disclosed.
Originally developed in 2001 and renovated in 2020, the 670,000-square-foot mixed-use center is home to a number of prominent national retailers, including Apple, Lululemon, Pottery Barn, Cheesecake Factory, and Williams Sonoma. Of the total space, approximately 255,000 square feet is dedicated to retail. The 50-acre site also includes a 320-unit multifamily development and more than 50,000 square feet of office space.
In a move likely to enhance the property’s investment potential, the ownership group recently secured new entitlements for the site. Approved by the Huntersville Board of Commissioners, the rezoning allows for future expansion that includes a hotel, additional multifamily units, 26,000 square feet of new retail space, and a new office building.
This repositioning and entitlement effort sets the stage for future growth and redevelopment opportunities at one of the region’s most notable retail centers.
