**Industry Leader KC Conway Passes Away at 62**
Kieran “KC” Conway, a respected real estate economist and industry trailblazer, passed away suddenly on April 28 in Lyndhurst, Ohio. He was 62 years old.
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Conway graduated magna cum laude with a finance degree from Emory University in 1985. He went on to establish both a successful career and a family in Georgia. In 1989, he earned his MAI designation, marking the start of a distinguished professional journey that spanned banking, private industry, academia, and public service.
Conway brought his expertise to many prominent roles over the years. In 2005, he joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and later served as a commercial real estate risk officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York during the 2008 financial crisis. He also held key leadership positions including chief economist at Colliers, chief appraiser at SunTrust, and faculty member at the University of Alabama’s Center for Real Estate. He later founded his own advisory firm, KCNomics, and served on the boards of Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corporation and UMH Properties, Inc.
Renowned for his candid and insightful analysis, Conway was a sought-after speaker at industry events throughout the country. His expertise ranged from macroeconomics and real estate finance to environmental risk management, housing economics, and tax appeals. He also focused deeply on topics like banking regulation, logistics, market monitoring across metropolitan areas, and valuation methodology.
“KC was a once-in-a-generation mind and made an incredible contribution to the commercial real estate industry,” said Daniel Ceniceros, president and CEO of Connect Media. “His insights on the economy were founded on his years at the Atlanta Fed and deepened through his decades as Chief Economist at Colliers, CCIM, and later with KCNomics. He was a friend to me personally, and to our team, and was always willing to share insights and advice. He’ll be remembered not only for his professional legacy but as an incredible father, friend, and man and will be greatly missed.”
KC Conway is survived by his children: Katie Conway of Tallahassee, Florida; Grace Conway of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and Luke Conway of Lilburn, Georgia. He is also survived by his brother Sean Conway (Rebecca), sisters Coleen Wilson (Robert) and Bridgette Greene (Steve), and many cherished extended family members and friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30 at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Lilburn, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Canine Companions, or St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Conway’s memory.
KC Conway leaves behind a legacy of insight, leadership, and genuine passion for advancing the commercial real estate industry.
