**San Diego’s First Element Hotel Tops Out Construction**

Architecture firm AO and general contractor R.D. Olson Construction have announced the topping out of Driftwood Capital’s Element Mission Valley Hotel in San Diego. This marks the first Element-branded property by Marriott in the San Diego area. The 98,000-square-foot development is scheduled for completion this winter and is being built in compliance with Title 24 energy efficiency standards.

The new seven-story, 150-key hotel will be located adjacent to the existing full-service Marriott Mission Valley. While it will maintain its own entrance, lobby, lounge, and dedicated amenities, it is designed to seamlessly integrate with the neighboring Marriott property by sharing the pool deck and restaurant facilities.

“We are designing this new Element Hotel to be unique from the nearby Marriott Mission Valley, with its distinguishing arrival area and placemaking, while still tasked with marrying the two properties seamlessly,” said Bruce Greenfield, partner at AO. “We trust our partners at R.D. Olson Construction to remain true to Marriott’s standards and bring to life Element’s specific look.”

Completion of the Element Mission Valley is anticipated by the end of the year.
