**Renovations Completed on Chicago’s Center for Better Aging**
The Center for Better Aging has completed its inaugural capital investment with a renovation project at the St. Bernard Hospital campus in Chicago’s Englewood community.
This 1,800-square-foot facility upgrade is supported by a grant from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. A key component of the renovation includes the addition of advanced 3D imaging technology, now available in the St. Bernard Hospital Ambulatory Care Center’s expanded mammography suite.
Chicago-based Ujamaa Construction, the Midwest’s largest minority-owned builder, led the project as the general contractor. The construction team featured 56% minority-owned and 19% women-owned small business subcontractors, reflecting a strong commitment to local, diverse business participation.
DL3 Realty contributed to the project’s concept development, feasibility studies, and overall design and planning, navigating the challenges posed by rising material costs and ongoing supply chain disruptions. Their work helped bring a state-of-the-art 3D imaging lab to the hospital campus, offering essential diagnostic services to the surrounding community.
The Center for Better Aging is a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting the lifelong health and well-being of adults aged 50 and older on Chicago’s South Side.
