**Publix and Sam’s Club Expanding Distribution Footprint in Jacksonville**
Publix Super Markets is moving forward with the construction of a 375,000-square-foot frozen foods warehouse on Jacksonville’s Westside. Situated at 10132 General Avenue, the facility will be developed on a 42-acre site that Publix purchased in 2012 for $3.07 million.
This new warehouse is part of Publix’s broader expansion efforts in the region. In addition to the warehouse, the company is also increasing its retail presence in St. Johns County, where construction is underway on one of the largest Publix stores in Florida. Furthermore, Publix is developing a $30 million central fill pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, targeted for completion in 2026.
Meanwhile, Sam’s Club is also strengthening its logistics capabilities in Jacksonville with a new one-million-square-foot distribution center at 1511 Zoo Parkway in Imeson Park. The facility will support same-day resupply deliveries to retail locations and handle long-term storage of seasonal merchandise.
This marks a significant development for the region, as the new Sam’s Club facility is the first of its kind in the area. The distribution center is designed with dual functions—serving as both an import hub for other warehouses and a direct distribution center supplying Sam’s Club retail outlets.
