### Americold Acquires Baytown Industrial Facility
Americold Realty Trust has acquired a cold storage facility in Houston, Texas, for a total investment of approximately $127 million. This investment includes planned expansion and equipment upgrades. The acquisition adds approximately 35,700 pallet positions to Americold’s warehouse portfolio.
The facility, which spans 10.7 million cubic feet and was built in 2022, is situated in the Cedar Port Industrial Park in Baytown, Texas. Cedar Port Industrial Park is the largest master-planned, rail-and-barge-served industrial park in the U.S.
Americold CEO George Chappelle highlighted the strategic value of the acquisition, stating, “The catalyst for this acquisition was the award of a large grocery retail contract with one of the world’s largest retailers. The new business represents a significant win in our $200 million sales initiative.”
Additionally, the acquisition includes roughly 16 acres of adjacent land, which could be used for future expansion projects. Americold has been a leader in providing technology-based, engineered solutions for the temperature-controlled supply chain industry for over 120 years.
